A collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach to build ladders of opportunity and unlock the full potential of our young people, including boys and young men of color.
What is My Brother’s Keeper…
On February 27, 2014, President Barack Obama joined foundations, business, and community leaders to launch My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) – a nationwide initiative to address persistent opportunity gaps faced by boys and young men of color and ensure that all young people who are willing to do the hard work to get ahead can reach their full potential.
An interagency task force was established to answer the President’s call to action and assess the impact of federal policies, regulations and programs to develop proposals that will reduce disparities and enhance positive outcomes for all youth, including boys and young men of color.
Though there is and will continue to be much work to be done, the 90-day progress report is a key step toward identifying challenges to overcome and opportunities to ensure that all youth, regardless of the circumstances of their birth, have the tools and opportunities to succeed.
